Château de la Napoule and La Napoule Art Foundation
On a recent work trip to southern France I was able to stay in a house right next to Château de la Napoule, a restored castle and historical landmark, that overlooks the Bay of Cannes in the town of Mandelieu-la-Napoule. The castle, constructed in the 14th century, was rebuilt a handful of times and is now owned by the La Napoule Art Foundation — an organization founded in 1951 by the last owners, Henry Clews Jr. and Marie Clews. When the Clewses acquired the castle in 1918, they began restoring the gardens which are now considered to be some of the most notable in France. Below are a few iPhone snaps photographed while touring the castle, it's grounds, and the surrounding area.
