Contemporary Art in Downtown Chicago
I've recently returned from a short trip to Chicago, where I was able to visit The New Contemporary wing of The Art Institute of Chicago as well as a handful of amazing sculptures scattered throughout the downtown area.
In 2015, The Art Institute reopened their contemporary art galleries, unveiling the largest collection of iconic contemporary art that I've seen all in one place. The collection of 40+ pieces, worth $500 million, was generously donated by famed art collectors, Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson.
Chicago truly is an amazing city for experiencing art and architecture and I've only just began to scratch the surface. Below is a small selection of iPhone snaps of some of my favorite pieces from the museum as well as an impromptu art & architecture-seeking walk downtown.
