The Cloisters is an incredible museum, governed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, that houses one of the most impressive collections of medieval art and architecture in the United States. The museum sits on four acres, overlooking the Hudson River, in Manhattan's Fort Tyron Park and is comprised of four European cloisters that were dismantled in the 1930's and transported to America. The amazing architectural setting reflects that of French monasteries and abbeys, complete with multiple gardens, court yards, chapels, themed galleries, passageways, and more. The Cloisters is one my favorite museums in the country and I highly recommend spending an afternoon there if you ever get the chance. Below is a small selection of Photographs from a recent visit.
