I have always loved the type and branding details printed on this old GANT Rugger chambray shirt. I was recently reading through Gant's history and learned that, in the brand's early days, they were in the business of supplying shirts to other retailers. The discreet diamond ‘G’ trademark stamped on the tail of the shirts was the customer’s assurance of quality. Jump ahead 70+ years and that detail is still there — a refreshing sentiment and testament that small details matter.
Additional Fun Fact: Gant invented the “locker loop” that’s now found on the back of most button-downs. It was originally designed to keep shirts wrinkle free in locker rooms.
